Wayne Wilson

The University of Queensland (UQ) first offered the option to study audiology as part of a Bachelor of Speech Therapy degree in 1968. It then became the first university in Australia to appoint an audiologist to an academic post in 1969 and to award a PhD in Audiology in 1989. UQ offered a stand-alone Postgraduate Diploma in Audiology from 1989-1997 and has offered a Masters degree in Audiology degree since 1998. Today, UQ remains one of only seven universities offering a Master of Audiology program in Australia.

2002-present: Teaching and Research Academic (currently Associate Professor) in Audiology at The University of Queensland. 2001-2002: Teaching and Research Academic in Audiology at The University of Auckland & Clinical Audiologist at Starship Children’s Hospital, Auckland. 1996-2000: Teaching and Research Academic in Audiology at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg). 1993-1996: Audiologist at the Queensland Neuro-otology Clinic, Brisbane.
