After three years of mostly virtual events, Australian and international audiologists and hearing health professionals joined Audiology Australia in channelling some Hollywood glamour as they honoured the best of the profession with the 2023 AudA Awards at Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast.
A total of 18 awards across five categories were presented at the conference dinner, recognising outstanding service and extraordinary achievement at every stage of the profession including students, early career audiologists and experienced practitioners.
2023 AudA Award Winners
Life Membership Awards: Helen Goulios and Alison King
Fellow Membership Award: Sandra Bellekom, Myriam Westcott, and Janis Whitehead.

Audiology Australia Internship Awards: Quinnie Sun, Laura Drexler, Isaac Mau and Zxeng Lindt See
AudA President, Dr Barbra Timmer said this year’s winners were worthy recipients for their exceptional work and contributions to AudA and the profession.
“The passion, innovation, excellence, and leadership of these outstanding individuals whether at the beginning of their career or experienced leaders mentoring future generations is inspiring. In and beyond the clinic, each has made an indelible mark on the profession and its impact on Australia’s hearing health,” said Dr Timmer.
After the challenges of the past few years, AudA CEO, Dr Tony Coles said it was particularly special to be able to celebrate the profession and the extraordinary contributions and achievements of this year’s winners in person during the AudA 2023 Conference.
“For the first time in such a long time we are together again celebrating our profession and importantly these outstanding individuals. I congratulate and thank each of them for their leadership, service, and excellence in delivering quality hearing healthcare for all Australians,” he said.
