The Australian Government is consulting on the draft version of the National Preventive Health Strategy (the Strategy). The Strategy is a long-term 10-year plan which focuses on system wide, evidence-based approaches to reducing poor health and ensuring the best outcomes for all Australians.
The Government is seeking stakeholder and community feedback on the draft Strategy, including comments on the following:
- the vision, high-level aims and principles of the Strategy
- the seven system enablers identified in the Strategy and its accompanying policy achievements
- the seven focus areas identified to boost prevention action in the first years of the Strategy
The draft Strategy, including the consultation questions, can be viewed at the end of the Department of Health’s National Preventive Health Strategy Consultation page here. It is anticipated that the final Strategy will be launched in mid-2021.
Audiology Australia will be providing a submission to the Government on the draft Strategy. Interested members are invited to view the draft Strategy and consultation questions and provide comments to feiya.zhang@audiology.asn.au by 5pm, Tuesday 30 March 2021.
