Consultation on the NDIS National Workforce Plan 2021-2025

Jul 20, 2021

The Joint Standing Committee on the NDIS has been conducting an inquiry into the NDIS workforce. As part of the inquiry, a National Workforce Plan has been released which sets out the Australian Government’s vision to build a responsive and capable workforce to support NDIS participants.

This includes the implementation of sixteen initiatives across key priority areas to enable workforce growth in the NDIS, including the following initiatives for allied health providers:

* Explore options to support allied health professionals to work alongside allied health assistants and support workers to increase capacity to respond to participants’ needs.

* Enable allied health professionals in rural and remote areas to access professional support via telehealth.

Audiology Australia will be providing a submission to the Joint Standing Committee on the NDIS on the National Workforce Plan. Interested members are encouraged to view the National Workforce Plan and provide any feedback and comments to feiya.zhang@audiology.asn.au by 5pm, Thursday 29 July 2021.
