Get ready for Australian audiology’s premier home conference!
Now operating for several years, the Audiology Australia Online Conference is one of this CPD Cycle’s best learning opportunities, with 8 hours of education up for grabs. There’s still time to register to attend the conference live on 23 and 24 October!
So, why should you attend?
1. Earn 8 CPD points – half your 2025-26 CPD Cycle requirements
You might have heard that we’ve shifted the Audiology Australia 2025-26 CPD Cycle to end on 31 March 2026, to better align with the Hearing Services Program deadline.
To facilitate the transition to the new timeline, we have, for this year only, announced a reduced pro-rata requirement of just 15 CPD points (including minimum 6 points in Category 1 and minimum 3 points for Category 2).
This means that, with up to 8 CPD points in Category 1.2 up for grabs if you attend the online conference, you’ll be on your way to meeting half your requirements for the 2025-26 CPD Cycle.
2. Learn at your convenience thanks to our flexible attendance options
The AudA Online Conference prioritises flexibility, so you can tune in when it suits you. The conference runs from Thursday 23 October (3.30-8pm AEDT) to Friday 25 October (11am-3.30pm AEDT), and online recordings are available on-demand from Monday 28 October until Thursday 18 January 2026.
But did you know that attendance isn’t limited to live or on-demand options – it could include a combination of both?
That means that you could take one of the days off, or only watch specific sessions, then watch the rest from the comfort of home. For example, take the Thursday afternoon (3.30-8pm AEDT) off, then watch the Friday recordings later!

3. Various topics – there’s something in the program for everyone!
This 2025-26 CPD Cycle, the online conference is your #1 option to study a varied program, with “a little bit of everything”, to stay at the forefront of clinical practice and research.
For example, our opening presentation on Thursday will introduce you to current research showcasing how a non-invasive brain imaging technique (functional near-infrared spectroscopy or fNIRS) is being used to detecting tinnitus presence and severity. Then, on Friday, speakers from Deaf Children Australia will share their lived experienced and resources available through Flying Colours.
The varied topics will keep you interested as you watch and, more importantly, you’ll be guaranteed to learn something new to adopt in your work.
For AudA student members, whose registration costs just $128, it will give you the chance to deepen your knowledge of audiology early and demonstrate your commitment to continued professional development with your future employer.

4. Hear from leading voices in the profession
An online conference gives you unparalleled access to speakers from a variety of locations across the country and internationally.
Headlining our international speakers is Professor Kevin Munro from the University of Manchester, and the former Director of the Manchester Centre for Audiology and Deafness. Kevin will be speaking on “DIY audiology at home: adults are interested in conducting self-administered hearing tests and trying fit-at-home hearing aids”.
NZ’s Dr Rachael Taylor, an audiologist and neuroscientist from the University of Auckland, also joins us. Rachael will be reviewing current knowledge on the mechanisms and patient characteristics underlying poor vestibular perception, and its functional implications.
But that’s not all. Joining us from around Australia are:
- Sarah Brennan, Deaf Children Australia
- Dr Katie Ekberg, Flinders University
- Stacey Johnson, Deaf Children Australia
- Dr Gargi Pathak, Genetic Health Western Australia
- A/Prof Mehrnaz Shoushtarian, Bionics Insitute
- A/Prof Valerie Sung, Melbourne Royal Children’s Hospital
- Dr Barbra Timmer, The University of Queensland.
Thank you to all speakers who are taking part in the conference.

5. Connect with peers and grow your professional network
If you’ve struggled to network due to your availability, location or another reason, the AudA Online Conference provides yet another opportunity to connect with peers if you decide to attend live.
Each day you’ll have the chance to join a half-hour networking session. On 5.30-6pm AEDT Thursday and 1-1.30pm AEDT Friday, you’ll be offered to join a virtual ‘room’, allowing you to chat with some of our speakers and other attendees from around Australia.
