For the past 6 years, the Audiology Australia Accredited Audiologist has delivered audiology training programs, audiological and technical support services, and introduced new hearing aid products across the country.

Audiology Australia: Hi Jonathan, can you provide us with an overview of Oticon’s role and impact on Australian hearing health?

Jonathan: Oticon plays a crucial role in Australian hearing health by pioneering cognitive hearing research and developing advanced hearing aids. Our BrainHearing™ philosophy has helped deliver technologies that support users to process sounds more effectively, with less effort. Technologies like those found in Oticon Intent™ with 4D Sensor Technology and AI-driven Deep Neural Network (DNN) 2.0 in Oticon Own SI™ exemplify our innovative approach. We support audiologists with evidence-based solutions, ensuring clients stay connected to meaningful sounds and improve their quality of life.

What will be on offer at your booth at this year’s AudA Conference?

Attendees can visit the Oticon booth for an interactive experience showcasing our latest innovations, including Oticon Own SI and Oticon Intent—both featuring our onboard DNN 2.0 for outstanding sound clarity.

Our VR experience at the booth provides a heading aid wearer’s perspective of advanced 4D Sensor technology in Oticon Intent, demonstrating how cutting-edge technology can enhance hearing in real-world environments.

We’ll also have exciting giveaways, including a limited number of our exclusive insulated drink tumblers.

Plus, don’t miss the opportunity to connect with your local team, explore our latest technology, and see firsthand how Oticon is shaping the future of hearing care.

You’re presenting at the conference on Thursday 3 April at 11.50am. What’s your presentation about?

In my presentation I’ll delve into Oticon’s BrainHearing™ philosophy, emphasising the importance of supporting the brain’s natural sound processing to facilitate successful communication. We’ll also touch on research methods from the Eriksholm Research Centre, such as EEG, pupillometry, and heart rate monitoring, which study sound encoding, listening effort, and stress. Additionally, I’ll discuss the benefits of Oticon Intent™ with 4D Sensor technology and AI-driven DNN 2.0 in Oticon Own SI™, and the crucial role of audiologists in fitting these advanced technologies.

Why is the Audiology Australia Conference so important for the sector?

The AudA Conference is a key event for the audiology community, bringing together experts, researchers, and industry leaders to share the latest advancements in hearing care. By fostering knowledge exchange, the AudA Conference plays a vital role in advancing the industry and improving outcomes for people with hearing loss.

Overall, what are you hoping attendees will take away from Oticon’s presence at the conference?

We want attendees to take home a deeper understanding of Oticon’s commitment to innovation and how our AI-driven technology is transforming hearing care. Our always-on DNN delivers a seamless, natural sound experience, helping wearers stay connected and engaged in conversations with ease.
