New MBS items to expand allied health access in aged care

Apr 1, 2021

Last year, the Government made available temporary MBS items to improve the access to allied health care for residents in residential aged care during COVID-19. Under these items, audiologists providing services to aged care residents are able to:

* claim a call-out fee to cover their costs to travel to an aged care facility to provide a face-to-face service; and

* undertake an initial attendance consultation with a resident who has been referred under an eligible treatment, management or care plan.
