AudA Online Conference offers Australian excellence to attendees at home and abroad

Sep 4, 2026

The Australian peak body for audiology, Audiology Australia (AudA), has opened registrations for its online conference, which will be broadcast live on 15 and 16 October 2026, GMT +11.

The event, open to members as well as non-members both in Australia and internationally, will offer ‘a little bit of everything’ to ensure participants can enjoy a diverse range of educational content. Recorded sessions will then be available on demand on the conference website until 31 January 2027.

‘The intention of the AudA Online Conference is to connect audiologists with leading voices in the profession, gain practical insights and keep up to date with the latest advancements in audiology,’ said AudA CEO Leanne Emerson.

‘Attending the conference allows you to experience AudA’s highly regarded educational program from the comfort of your own home. You’ll hear from leading experts in the field of audiology in Australia as well as international headliners that we’ve secured for the event.’

Kicking off the confirmed speaker list, AudA can announce the participation of Dr Sophia E. Kramer, Professor of Auditory Functioning and Participation and Co-Director of the Ear and Hearing Research lab at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of the Amsterdam University Medical Center, The Netherlands.

In her talk, ‘The Psychosocial Impact of Hearing Loss: Differences Between Age Groups and Hearing Device Users’, Dr Kramer will explore the ongoing, extensive Netherlands Longitudinal Study on Hearing (NL-SH), as well as recent studies into the wellbeing of people with hearing loss in the workplace. The latter studies compare differences between people with normal hearing, hearing aid users and cochlear implant users and Dr Kramer will shed light on a possible key role for psychosocial care in supporting people with hearing loss.

In addition to the presentations, attendees of the live event will be able to join online networking sessions, where they will be placed in various ‘virtual rooms’ and have the chance to meet other attendees.

‘The AudA Online Conference prioritises convenience and flexibility in learning and networking, without compromising on quality,’ said Ms Emerson.

‘For international audiologists, the AudA Online Conference also marks the perfect opportunity to get a taste of Australian education before the World Congress of Audiology in Sydney, 2030.’

The AudA Online Conference is worth up to 8 CPD points (Category 1.2) – the entirety of the current Category 1 CPD Cycle requirements – for members. Points are allocated after completing a quiz or reflection relevant to each session. Attendees who are not AudA members will be emailed a certificate of attendance once they have completed a quiz or reflection.

Early bird registrations for the event close 21 September 2026.
